The idea
Learning about animals should feel like a game. WilderCards turns any animal you see into a collectible card.
The hard part wasn't just the machine learning. It was making an image recognition pipeline that feels instant and game-like on a phone, instead of clunky.

How it works
- You take a photo, or upload one, of an animal.
- A Python image recognition model identifies the species.
- The app pulls that species' details from Firestore in real time.
- It builds a trading card with the photo, name, description and stats.
My part
I worked across almost every feature on a team of three.
- The whole Firebase backend. Authentication for sign-up and login, and the Firestore database that serves species data.
- Image recognition. Helped build the model that identifies the animal.
- UI and UX. Designed the login and account screens.
